Is there any way to make enclosed surfaces dissapear?

I need to get rid of certain overlappings inside a transparent object. It are refracting objects so I do need to keep the actual back sides...

ok so if i've got it right, you ahve some disjointed faces you need to get rid of?

select one of the outer surfaces faces, then choose select connected, then choose hide selected, the interior faces should now be what's left, select one of the faces you want to keep, then select connected, then invert selection, this should select all the disjointed polys, just hit delete, then hit unhide all to bring back the outside polys.

but why do you have a double layer? you know there's no need to do that in cinema right? that's a lightwave thing because lightwave doesn't support decal mapping or material layering. in cinema simply apply one texture and in the tacture tag attributes choose "front", then apply the backfaces material again and this time choose "back" from the options... much faster, you can of course mix in other textures on top.

Nah, I made these very round, bubbly letters, but a side effect is that the poly's at certain 'sharp' curves are going through eachother. Wich naturally turn out darker, as there are more surfaces.

Like with the R or B...

I think you might want to remake your letters dude. It is probibly not necessary to have things intersect each other like that.

Unfortunatly I can't seem to prevent it from happening. It's a comic sans letter in an extrude NURBS, with 10 hull and 10 steps.

From the outside they look fine, but with the transparant material on it they don't.

I was hoping there may be some kind of plug-in (as there are lots of weird, wacky plugs), but I'll just try to make them editable and delete the inners, hope that'll work out....

But thanks all.
