I completed a Realflow project and brought it into Maya 8.5. I rendered the first 45 frames and all was well. As soon as the RF mesh began to intensify in Maya, I began to receive the error window (attached to this letter). This is the first time I've ever seen this so I'm at a loss. I can't render more than two frames when this error box appears. I'm removed Maya 8.5 from my system and reinstalled it. Again the problem continues. Not more than an hour ago, I removed Maya 8.5 and cleaned out the registry of any Autodesk files. I then installed Maya 2008 thinking that a clean install with a new version will clean this problem up. Sadly it didn't. When I attempted to render a new frame, the same error window appeared and now I have no idea what is wrong.
I went on google to try and find out what this means, and apparently this has to do with office XP. I copied and pasted the exact text from the website:

After you install Microsoft Office XP or one of the Office XP programs, you may receive one of the following error messages:

If anybody is able to offer a solution to how I can get rid of this problem, I would really appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you.

Dont be too distracted by the google results of that error message. It is a very general error message and does not indicate any relationship between maya and office. Nor do I think this is an installation problem.

The actual cause of maya crashing (terminating in an unusual way) could be many things so it may not be obvious to track down. Since you said it happened when the "mesh began to intensify" my first thought was not enough memory. Does it work if you try the same thing with a simpler mesh? Does increasing your pagefile size (swap space) make any difference?

Hi David.

Thanks for taking time to reply. Ok, as far as simpler meshes go, I have no trouble with. After looking into this issue I too concluded that it's most likely a memory issue and after finding your letter, it seems that memory is the main factor here.
As far as swap space in concerned, this is uncharted teritory for me so I'm going to have to look into this and how to change it for the time being.

I'll give this a try now.
Thanks for taking time out to reply.

Cheers
