Hi all,

Is there anyone here who knows if there is a central database where we can submit CineBench 2003 benchmark results?

I would like to see how my new machine compares to others as I am looking to purchase Cinema 4D soon, and would like to have the best system for this...

Many thanks,

Peter Borcherds

It's okay, found a thread that has a zip file with results:

http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47031&highlight=cinebench+2003

Out of 74 results, I am at nr 4 for the GFX C4D benchmark, and am the only Athlon in top ten!

open GL software lighting I am at nr 10
open GL hardware lighting I am at nr 12

Boy, am sure am happy with my new machine! :) Built it up over the weekend...

Now, just to get Cinema 4D.... $$

What graphics card are you using?
I am looking at getting a geforce FX, but I am not sure wheteher to get a 5600 or wait till 5900 and pay a whole lot more for slightly( or largely?) bettter performance.

Can you post your CB and your machine specs?

thanks

The 5600 can't even keep up with mid-range ATI cards (e.g. 9500). The 5900 is a little faster than ATI's flagship, the 9800 Pro even with 256 MB ram.

Of course, the 5600 is hardly a slouch (just installed one last night, haven't had a chance to put it through its paces yet), and mine cost only $170, while the 5900 will be around $500...

$500!! , well I guess I better forget about 5900 then. I was hoping around 350.

:Thalaxis: Can you post benchmarks soon? Which card did you get.
I have used evga, visiontek xtasy with no problems, but I was looking at getting a Gainward 5600 this time.
Thanks

I got a GF FX 5600, the Gainward model (that includes DVI & TV output).

I'll see about getting some benchmarks posted tonight.

Overall, it's pretty close to the performance of the Radeon 8500 (slightly slower), but the drivers are nicer, dual planes work now, and so far it's been more stable overall.

Also, the Radeon was only able to drive 1024x768 on the second monitor, the GFFX5600 is driving it at 1280x1024. The primary monitor is still 1600x1280.

paliz,

what motherboard are you using. your cinemebench is less than mine although my fastest is"only" the 2600+?

my rendering single cpu cinebench is about 265,
i dont know my graphik benchmark right now, dont have the time now to redo the benchmark, but it also seems higher with an pine gf 4200?

i would check you bios settings. the xp 2800+ should have at least 280 at the cpu test.

Mine's only a 2000+, not a 2800+. You have a faster CPU than I;
my machine is more than 1 year old now.

thalaxis,

i said that to paliz, who posted his cinebench for an 2800+.
(see above;-)

he should have faster benchmarks with his 2800+....

cheers
