This is an old project I did a while back - thought I would share it with you guys.

texture sizes 64, 128 and 256

This took only a couple days from start to finish because of its simplicity.

These two textures were actually down rez'd to 128's in the render. They were painted at 256 though, I feel they are easier to read at this size.

Wow! Nice work!

I saw your sci fi environment a while back and was amazed.

To see you do a complete switch in style and continue the high quality work is great to see. Very few people can do that!

Your textures are always awesome. There is a lot to be learned from them.

Keep up the GREAT work and cant wait to see more!!

nice work!

thoought, you can try choosing more fresh colors, the scene looks dark.
as i see it the scene has one light, you can add more lights, play more with lightning :)

The scene is using a 3 light rig.

I don't know how you can say the render looks "dark" though? But maybe your right.

thanks for looking!

Nice work.

I had to do a very similar stylized scene recently for an art test and was wondering exactly how long it took you to complete this. You say it took a couple of days, but how long in hours? Did you have any prefabs ready to use, or is it 100% made from scratch.

Just want to see how i compare with other people.

Thanks

Hey, it's 100 percent from scratch.

It took about 24 hrs over the couple of days.

That's;

Grey blocking
Lighting
Modeling
UVing
Texturing
Shader
Rendering

Hope that helps ArtsyFartsy.

Hope this is what you wanted iLegacy. It was just my curb texture from the scene.

I made one 128 with 4 tileable textures.

Nothing to say beyond that.

Sleep is for the weak eh Mindfreak?

That's pretty good. My scene was not as complex as yours. I'd say about half as many objects and it took me about 14 hours, so glad to hear i'm not too slow.

You may think this a cheap trick, but i found a really polished glass like material, gave my scene a very vibrant and modern look. By glass material i mean just high specularity and very focused highlight (gloss). But that depends on your preference.

Anyway, keep up the good work.

Glad to hear that helped you figure out you weren't going to slow! Thanks for the glass shader tip. I've actually got a few glass shaders I've made in the past, but wasn't looking to use them for this particular style.

And yes - sleep is for the weak.

Take care,

Hey Mindfreak, I was wondering how to get the black outline around your models (but not on the inner details). Its not a part of the texture?
