Hello guys, i had a hard the last couple of days trying rendering out fur with MR ( BTW i'm a modeler/sculptor, so don't expect too much from me for setting and fancy shaders :-)
So i used rasterizer with detailed map shadows and final gather with preview fg presets
I'm using gorilla fur presets straigt out from maya:
Here is the result so far:

The only thing i would like to add is nice reflections on the fur from hdr environment.
But i'm stuck here, i can't seem to add it.
Anyone round here with a cool workflow or solution in order to get it to work.
I don't mind trying different solutions or be pointing out to a thread or tut somewhere on the net:-)

THX alot

select the FurFeedbackShape and on the Render Stats check "visible in reflections" and "visible in refraction"
they're disable by default ;)

Hello Dagon1978, well i'm a bit annoyed here for i checked those values right from beginning. I tried IBL with different hdrs without any luck. Hdr really affects ground but don't seem to be picked up by the gorilla hair.
I don't have any workaround so far.
THX for your time

I’m not sure if we agree on the same terms
Visible in reflection and refraction, will allow the FUR to be “viable “ if the near surface is reflective (you need ray trace for that)
