not much to critique yet... no real detail except duplicates of objects over and over.... I wanna see some cables, and wires, and cords, and flimsy cylindrical objects (cables).... :surprised

anywho, post some updates already!
Cheers,

Im mapping out all polygon contours on a plane then bending it into a hemisphere, then im going to start extruding the details.

Internal Chasie

I used The Spherify modifier on 6 joined planes to get this effect.

wow this is some very impressive work, incredibly detailed meshes, and they are perfect. all quads from what I can see..Ill keep an eye on this, can we see smoothed?

Thanks Spirit2029, I’ll do a smooth render tonight (Australia gmt-10) while I’m asleep. Once I add meshsmooth the polycount gets a little out of hand, stressing my poor 1.2 GHz processor.

Bringing some elements together, added little screws etc.

awesome, I really dig it... I think it would look awesome in a DroneZ type style (those dark exagerated scratched up textures)

Can't wait to see more, heheh... I have a thing for machines.

I've seen a dorid like this before, spherical with an iris eye, i think it was for an add for discovery channel.

Nice model, pretty heavy mesh though.

This is some of the cleanest Sub-D modeling I've ever seen. Really great job.

The idea to model it all on a box, and then adding a spherify modefier was a really cool idea. Kudos to your brain for thinking that one up.

Perhaps I appreciete this work on a deeper level from all the sub-d theory I've been up to lately, but still, this is totally awsome. I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Thanks for all your comments guys

Havent done much today ive got a graphic design work deadline:annoyed:

But i will tell you a bit about where im going with the droid:

He will have arms comming out the sides.
4 Jets, 1 on each quadrent.
1 main jet under him.
A fairly complex optical array inside his iris cavitys.
Plus a few other gizmos:shrug:
