Oh, I love the atmosphere in this pic "just for the record im no crazy nazi fanatic".

Hehe me neither, but I work on a similar "WW2-German/Nazi" project, and I just want to mention that the Nazi logo looks fascinating. Guess they could make cool aircraft, subs and logos.

Served on a coastal fortress in my service, which in 1940 sank a German cruiser with its two artillery pieces and its torpedo battery. Perhaps an irony that the hardware was german also.

About your tank, how about some more skrews/bolts and such on the plates?

but what kind of tank is this?

looks like a home-made tank..
try using references instead.. you got the modelling skills, but the tank looks all wrong :)
for example, whats up with those gigantic wheels inside the tracks? never seen wheels like that on a tank.. they are usually small and many as far as i know..

Well done:applause:
I can't understand what is the light that projects the shadows on the roof. The lights on the nazi symbol should be two
Well, it seems I'm not so good in English to explain what I mean :surprised

thanks for the replies, yes this is a homemade tank , its based on a real one but i really just made up the parts as i went, whatever looks cool i guess,

Otos: yes im struggling with the plane, thing is i made those prviously and i think my modeling improved from ther plane to the tank.

Mackan: funny you say the tank wheels because thats the one thing that is referenced and real.

Silver silver: yes i know what you mean, there are 2 lights i guess theres just a design tangent that is making the 2 lights appear as though they were 1, thes one illuminating the tank in the FG. and the one lighting the wall in the BG. i will create a light fixture on top to help distinguish them 2

Polymorph: yeah tanks are not the most exciting but ive only been in school learning to model with nurbs for 1 1/2 months so tanks and such are the norm at this level. next term we do surface and organic modeling and things will change.

there shouldn't be so many nazi markings on that tank .. give it a more german look ( more angles / less rounded stuff ) especialy the turret that looks like an american shermann tank ..

nice ambiance anyway - you feel ze evil

It just popped up in my mind, dun' know if its correct :/..

Maya, All nurbs

as for the nazi symbol There seems to be agreement that the swastika is a symbol of the sun. It might have been a symbol of the most influential Arian Gods (Zeus, Jupiter). There are lots of possible explanations: It might be a symbol of the stars revolving around the North Pole, the four seasons, it might be a symbol of a human being (two arms + two legs), also something like the yin and yang symbol (masculine and feminine, movement and rest etc.). Some theories say that it might be a symbol of a maze, lightning, water in motion etc. Among some Asian muslims, the swastika is a symbol for north/south/east/west and the four seasons, for some Chinese it is a "a collection of happy symbols, including thousands of good effects". Today not everyone would agree with this understanding of the symbol.

Nevertheless... the symbol here is used in the meaning of the Nazi-regime. My opinion is that it was rare seen on german tanks. I canīt help myself, but it bites my eyes. The tank is not authentic but the symbol is? I donīt like it... sorry.

well duh...it's not so hard to make the symbol authentic, is it?
lol

good model...you should work a bit more on the textures...they seem a bit lowres

The Nazi symbol on the backwall are turning the wrong way. he he ;)

And the light might need a bigger shadow resolution.(shadow from the tank)

beside that is looks good.

When i first saw it the first thing that poped in my head was that the lights are all at the same intensity. I'm am animator and I don't know much about lighting, but I think it might be cool if one of the lights was burnt out, or maybe had different watt bulbs. My eyes were just drawn to the lights and I think something to break it up might be good. I'm looking at my bedroom light fixture and one bulb is pretty much white and the other has a definate yellow tint to it...Just a thought.

I like it though!

My 2 cents-
