Hi everybody!
I have just started modelling the main character for my main assignment this year. I haven`t really figured out the story yet, but I have had this character in my mind for a long time.
Right now, I feel I have got the basic shape of the head and body, but they still need a lot of tweaking.
I have also planned to put some hair on his head, but I don`t know what to do. Maybe I`ll try to make each hair a softbody, but then, how do I get the hair to return to its original state?

I need feedback!

Roald :)

hey roald
the character is looking good so far.
The ears might need a little touching up, they look a little pointy on the bottom side.
Also the mouth in smile-morph needs some tweaking, maybe sculpt it into more of an arc instead of a "V" shape, unless that's your aim of course.
About the hairs, you might want to use morphs for that instead of softbodies, it might ease the work a bit.
Hope it helps!
Have fun with it. :)

Here are some major updates. I have made the head a bit smaller. Any comments?

Hi!
As you probably can see, I have made quite a few adjustments on my old dude. I have dressed him up and changed the story completely.

Any comments or crits?

Looks great, one thing that I think might be a problem is that when the mouth expression changes the rest of the face isn't really affected, it always looks a bit off if the mouth is moving in isolation - course I can't tell if this applies here, but just in case...

Forgot to mention, the hair has proper comedy potential wiht a good quality comb-over, though it probably needs some kind of bone rig, but you could do all kinds of stuff. Can't get the image of Bill Murray in Kingpin out of my head... Now that's worrying!

Hi!
Thank you for your comments. I`ll see if I can fix the hair.

Here is a small animation-test. I have never animated before, so anyone please give me some tips :)

He's progressing nicely. Looks like you have his moves down too in the ani.
