i am very new to 3D modeling, but cgtalk has inspired me to teach myself and lern how to do this stuff.

i have made my first model in wings, but i am having trouble exporting it to LithUnwrap, it say no geometry found. what am i doing wrong? i'm trying to export it in OBJ format.

Hmm, Dunno, make sure there is nothing selected (press space bar) before you export. If Lithunwrap still won't read the file try opening it in another 3d app or try reimporting the .obj file into Wings. Maybe you just had a bad save. If the obj file opens in other apps the obj export may need tweaking so you could post the problem in the official forum. Which version are you using and which platform? I had some problems with .obj import and export a few versions ago on Mac but Bjorn fixed them. If you think you have found a bug try and figure out what's wrong if possible to save Bjorn a bit of work!
Sorry I can't be of more help but I've never used Lithunwrap, in fact I don't think it's available for Mac. - Baz

wings has a built in uvunwrapper. It is so incredibly good, why would you want to use anything else? I tried Lithunwrap and thought it was descent, then i tried wings unwrapper and now i think Lithunwrap is complete CRAP!!! Just my opinion :)

LithUnwrap is actually pretty nice if you want to unwrap mechanical-looking models rather than organic ones. I use Lithunwrap too in those "boxy" cases, but when it comes to characters, there's no better thing than AutoUV.

Another reason to use Lithunwrap is if one wants to export to any of the many game-formats around, like Half-life, Quake I-III, Homeworlds, Sims etcetera etcetera.

As for the problem - I cannot think of anything to go wrong really. What exact version of Wings are you using? Maybe some of the bugfix versions has been a bit off in the OBJ-department?
