Hey all...

I am having some trouble with my playblasting. When i open the playblast options box, it pops up empty. I can use script to make it run the settings I want, but I dont want to have to keep doing that everytime because of the differing pblasts that I am trying to save out.

Also, if its not possible to remedy, and I do in fact have to continue using script, how do i change the save directory for the files?

this is what i have so far...

playblast -format movie -w 720 -h 480 -clearCache 1 -viewer 1 -showOrnaments 1 -compression rle

i wanna make it divX 5.02 compression (default settings)
And i want to change the save dir.

anyone have any ideas?

thx in advance

It sounds like Maya is running low on memory or something? Menus will get funky in low memeory situation because the GUI doens't load everythign when you launch Maya. How mcuh ram you got? You might also check your prefs.. try moving the maya folder out of your user directory and then see if you still get the same problem.

Hmmm... My memory isnt wonderful, but its not terrible either. its right at 512.

Im running an Nvidia geforce 4 go... its a dell laptop @ 2.4 ghz

Ill try moving the dir... im also going to try updating my video driver if thats possible. For now though, it seems that playblast is the only thing not showing correctly.

thx

Have you installed any MEL scripts that modify the interface?

gmask... it suddenly works ;)

I tried your advice by moving my folder out of my user dir and restarted my box, and loaded maya... alls well!

thx for the help... who knows what it was... maybe my box just needed a good restart ;)
