Looks like a good deal to me. Have you priced similarly spec'd machines from Dell, Alienware, etc.?

Great specs for the money
Only thing I would bear in mind is that if you only have one memory dimm you will not benefit from the Dual Channel speedup. But if you have 2 slots free I think you will get 2x256MB.
Only thing I am not sure about is the monitor. 17" Isn't really top of the bill nowadays, the bigger the better, certainly when it comes to C4D or other 3D apps.
And I would not want a monitor that cannot run 1280x1024 at a refreshrate below 85hertz. Which is often the case with 17" CRT's. Mine (Iiyama 17") does however, so it's possible. 19" can almost always run these resolutions at high refresh rates.
But I'd still go for it, no doubt :)

Almost a flagship rig, but for under $2000? Yes, that's a pretty good deal.

that would be avery good deal, i got something like that from hp minus graphics card and plus some ram and a few minor other things and paid a little over 2000 which was after rebates, id take this deal and run away laughing
