View Full Version : Rayfire 1.34 - Having immense problem HELP!!
spiqy 07-13-2008, 02:02 AM For me Rayfire hasn't been friendly at all.. I did everything from the video tuts but since I used 1.34 i had to guess around some parameters because Mir was using 1.33 for the tutorial i was following. My problem is NOTHING works, it creates the fragments thats as far as it goes. The fragments however falls thru the ground so does the ball even though I included the ground exactly as the video. Also the fragments when i preview it looks like a box (thicker than the scene's), also sometimes the mesh go crazyy and when I start the "Make Animation" it zooms right in and not showing anything. I tried looking for other tutorials online and there's none available. Im so close to giving up because my weekend has been spoilt because of rayfire...
Seems like an awesome plugin and I would love to figure how to use it..............

Try asking in the Rayfire thread at the top of the forum, you will more than likely get a faster response.
Fracturing is the first step. Make sure you have added your floor object to the Unyielding objects list (in the reactor tab) so it becomes part of the sim.
The sphere well that depends on what you want it to do and how you want it to interact.
If you want the sphere to move after something hits it add it to the inactive objects list, if you want it to be active from the start add it to the impact objects list.
Another thing make sure object are not intersecting, reactor has a hard time with this it is best to leave a gap between objects.

Hi spiqy.
First of all check Your world scale, because You might have some problems with very small objects. I partially fixed this problem in build 13402. If it will not help You, send me scene for tests on my mail.
Also describe which feature doesnt work properly, is it fragmentation or reactor animation, or demolition?
Also the fragments when i preview it looks like a box (thicker than the scene's) Reactor Preview mode does not show actual geometry. It shows simulation geometry.
You can set simulation geometry in "Simulation geometry" dropdown list.
Seems that for now it defined as "Bounding Box", set it to "Concave Mesh" to see in preview mode actual geomtry, but in this case simulation time will take much more time.
