TZYdaCG,

here are some book that I've found useful:

Richard Williams - The Animators Survival Kit (good traditional 2D animation that can be used for 3D Cg aswell, covers most situations, more examples then you can shake a stick at!)

Preston Blair - Cartoon Animation (traditional 2d animation, can also come in handy for 3D CG animation, inspiring!)

Tony White - The Animators Workbook (same, traditional 2d animation, good beginners book,)

Ed Hooks - Acting for Animators (character development and acting for animators)

Shamus Culhane - Animation from script to screen (traditional 2d animation)

Frank Thomas, Ollie Johnston - The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation (Good for inspiration, Disney studio history, not so much nuts & bolts of animation how to though, everyone says it's a must have, maybe, I've read it once, didn't convince me to bye it though)

Cheers,

I've taken the leap and ordered

Richard Williams - The Animators Survival Kit

and

Ed Hooks - Acting for Animators

form Amazon, the deal was buy the first book and get the second cheaper so I'm getting bothfor £28 - not bad.

It's a big step as my book purchases are usually tutorial based these are theory.

I'll write a mini review after I get them and have a good read.

ed hooks is a good one too, it's got a lot in ther ethat you wont find anywhere else. animators survival kit is absolutely fantastic. it's one of those books that i keep going back to, almoston a weekly basis and every time i go back i see it in a different light and get something new from it - there's always some little gem hidden away that you seem to have missed all those other times you read it!
