DAMN YOU!!, i wanted to do a b-17 before anyone else, I have been such a fan of the plane, that i wanted to do,
however you have done justice to such a great airplane, i cna't wait to see the final render, i guess i'll jsut have to make a me-109 to shoot it down :)

The amount of 12.7mm machine guns on my B-17G is 12 and they will appear soon, only one me-109 is not enough to shoot it down:)

Nice job, keep on!
When you'll have finished the modeling, do you plane to work on lighting?
I'm often surprised by the quality of c4d picture.:wip: keep posting!

The modeling has already finished, but all the objects without texture are hidden
I want to build a scene with a group of B-17 flying in the sunshine and casting lots of bombs:)

Do you feel the surfaces is too dark? These materials were made on a notebook:shrug:
yeah, from all the pictures i have of the b-17, and i have tonnes of magazines and movies, the silver is too bark,n and not shinny enough,
perhaps some more lighting and more specualr highlights,
any chance you can post a wireframe of the completed model??

Modelling looks very good ... what's there... texture wise most of the shots I've seen look very shiny in comparison.. any chance of a pic of the completed model untextured? :)

This model is shaping up real nice. I think a real topper would be to add a vargas style pinup to the front.

Nice one! Im a great fan of wwII planes too.
only criticism is the texturing, it looks _way_ to clean and plastic and modern. a good example is the front bubble window in your last posted render.
What i cant await is a fleet of b17 dropping their load over some german city (berlin would be the choice i guess) with some flaks exploding nearby and a few me-109 approaching in the background. you could ask waz to do these ;)
but, i think, a couple of me 262 or me 163 comet would really get that big ol lady into trouble *gg*

thanks for everyone's comments:)
to Waz:
here is the wire frame of my model. rendering with wire frame is too slow in rhino,so i have no more maps:phttp://www.chinavfx.com/bbs/attachments/200305/27092212-004.gif

Yes and also the highlight size is too large on the glasses; makes them looking like plastic . Keep on!;)

I want to ask; what is the hardest part in modeling the B-17 model?

nice work, keep it up...

thanks for your helps! i'll keep on improving the materials:)
undseth:
perhaps the most hardest part in modeling is the engines, there's too many details that can not be ignored, but the photos i have can not give me enough help
in addition, the blueprint has some fatal error, many surfaces were rebuilt during the modeling:buttrock:

Ahhh shes a verrry nice, only crit and i could be wrong here, the top turret profile seems a lil bit too tall, but it may just be the angle.
me like

the top turret has too many types during the WWII, and the photos i gathered puzzled me, perhaps you are right:shrug:

You would be right there, especially on the g model production was going so fast that a lot of modifications were done in the field and at the tulsa depot center before heading across the pond. I donthave my books here at the moment but i believe the top turret was a built buy Martin, formerly curtiss martin, an i think it was Designated the A-3. I will try to check when i get home tonight and write you back.
