Just wondering if someone could offer some advice on how to set up my computer with three monitors. I've searched but are getting a little confused in what I need as some of the info seems a little dated

Currently I am running two 19 inch LG LCD Monitors and I would like to add a Cintiq 21 inch into the mix. I like the 19's so don't really want to give them up and the way I have my desk set up is that the cintiq would sit at the front with the 19's raised up at the back so the best of both worlds (Cintiq is right in front for drawing when I need it and the 19's for general stuff)

My computer has these specs

Nvidia Quadro FX1300
AMD X2 4200
4 gig Ram
1 60 gig Hard Drive
1 150 gig Hard Drive
2 19 inch LG LCD monitors (use the two DVI ports with adapters)
XP Pro SP2

I know the computer is getting on a bit but I don't tend to do alot of 3D stuff anymore so I haven't outgrown it yet. I flexirent this computer and the contract is up in October so if I can add the cintiq without too much hassle I will probably keep it.

I use these programs mostly
Photoshop CS3
Illustrator CS3
Artrage 2.5
Zbrush 3.1
Maya 7 (for base modelling only to import into Zbrush)

I've spoken to a couple of computer shops but they seem to think I need another high end card which I'm not really sure is the case.

Thankyou for any help

Cheers,

Clair

I do believe you would need to add a second video card. So that your current card drove the 2 19 inch monitors you have and a second card would drive the cintiq. I could be wrong but I think thats how it works.

Done some more searching and tracked a bit of info looks the motherboard is SLI enabled so it just looks like I need another Quadro FX 1300 video card.

It's proving hard to track one down on the net for Australian sites at the moment so could anyone suggest an overseas place where I might be able to get one. I will be trying the place I got the original one from Monday but I know they aren't going to be cheap and would like to get one as cheap as possible.

Cheers,

Sorry not quite sure what you are saying the Quadro FX 1300 is a dual DVI card, the adapters are for the actual monitor connections in this case the LG 19's. The Cintiq has a DVI connection so I wouldn't need an adapter to run it.

I've looked at Newegg and Tigerdirect but they don't ship overseas so are just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere else that does.

Cheers,

Clair
