hi, i assumed you rendered this gun in 3d software. this design should be placed in the 3d forums. This forum is for 2d illustrations for people who draw and paint in photoshop or other types of programs...

tadeuc: Thanks a lot buddy!

ShogunWarrior: Yes, i use 3d software, but it's not a 3d piece, it's a concept art for a gun. I did a lot of photoshop paintover on it, add details, textures, color, correcting mesh errors and values, volumes, lights, etc.

Today i found a James Hawkins( one of my inspirations to do this work ) thread at conceptart.org forums and he wrote:

"-3d modelling programs can be your best tool for designing 1st person weapons. There are so many things that can go wrong when a modeller is working from a 2d concept of a 1st person weapon. Proportion, camera angles, screen space all can get fudged in translation. The more specific a concept can be, the easier it is to get exactly what you want in the final asset. 3d programs greatly help in nailing perspective, camera placement, animation, all the cool stuff that combines to make a good 1st person weapon ."

Today there are a lot of artists doing environments and props using 3d tools and posting their concept art stuff in 2d section.

Well, here follows the first steps of this work.

I refine the thumbnail 9 and push it to the final concept art.
