How do you achieve the infinite zooming in ala zoomquilt that was popular some time back? A picture within a picture. Will it work with photos as it is? Any tutorials out there on this?

check it out, I explain at the start how it works, i don't think it will work with photos.

It would work with photo's up to a point...that point being when it loops. Of course you could use doorways or windows to make the transitions easier.

Russta, that original post was a great idea. I would love to be involved with something like that but as soon as I commit to anything non-work I get a project in that prevents me from finishing which is why I've given up entering contests...and I'm not much of a 2d artist, strictly 3d for me...which might work, having different styles on each tile?

Personally, if I was involved with something like that I'd ask people to fill an entire frame including the center with the understanding that the center section will be removed. It would help the next artist to blend their image more seamlessly, perhaps leaving some of the elements to flow through.

yeah thats a good idea biliousfrog, i think it's probably better if the mods of this site decide to make one. The current zoom quilts only go on for so long, imagine one that just kept going and going with the amazing talent on this site!

This isn't like zoomquilt although it might be of some use. It's definitely interesting:
