View Full Version : Scripting Shatter Patterns
johnnyKos 07-09-2008, 10:21 PM I'm starting to create a tool set for shattering objects to be used in Rigid Body Dynamics. I'd like to make a shatter tool that can create more custom crack patterns and allows the user more control. Does anyone know of any other way besides the boolean function to cut objects? If anyone has any good ideas on how to go about scripting a shatter tool please share
Thanks in advance for the suggestions

the knife tool (or slice) is pretty straight forward.
It's very reliable, even with very dense meshes.

Maybe but it might be more of a pain since you have to close the inside faces so that you don't have holes and you also have to be able to add cut and bumps on those face so it looks like it was cracked.
you can take a look on this one:

EDIT: its not going to do the cracking part, and I guess you wanna do better than that one...
just as a reference though.
