View Full Version : Creating & attatching Shading Groups?

This is probably a very simple question but it has me stumped.

I have a difraction shader but it won't render. I've worked out that this is because there is no shading group for the diffraction shader despite me keeping the 'create shading group' tick box checked in the create node dialogue.

The shader used to work when I last had it loaded in but when I saved it out it must have lost the shading group node.

I'm not sure how it was working though because I've tried creating a few different diffraction shaders and a SG never gets created? Maybe I'm creating the shaders incorrectly?

Is there a manual way of creating a shading group node and attatching it to the diffraction shader?

Don't worry about it. Dumb Ass Bliz here had forgotten he was rendering with MentalRay and the difraction shader doesn't work in MR  :scream:  :scream:  :scream: :hmm:

Ignore me. Even though I've spent two days scratching my head over this at least I'm happy to know my knowledge of the Hypershade isn't totally flawed :D
