hi, first post here

im making this char for a contest ( still working on the environment )

http://members.home.nl/mark.s/charwip.jpg

havent decided what texture to use for the gasmask :hmm:

still tweaking him, his coate will actually fit when i'm done with it + it will have more ringles ;)
and the flying chain will be attached to his arm thingie

the scene will be him picking up a scorched teddybear :D with a city in ruines on the background :D

the texturing needs some more tweaking 2, perhaps some dirt would do the trick

some other wips + a wireframe can be found here (http://www.3dfreakz.net/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=206&)

:D <- cool smilie btw :D

Welcome to CGTalk :xtreme:

That model looks cool. What program are you using? If you're using 3D Studio MAX, I'd recommend some sort of Cloth Modifier for the trenchcoat. Like Sim Cloth or something. It can be used to wrap one mesh around another, just like a shirt/jacket.

For the gasmask... Leather strips around the head, and the mask itself should be made of plastic. If it's one of todays masks.

By the way, maybe you should look a bit closer at the hands and arms.

Good luck with the contest.

i am using 3dmax, simcloth rules indeed ;)
havent decided what to use for the coate actually :hmm:
im thinking about making the scene a bit windy so im thinking of using Reactor ( not sure if simcloth can handle Wind )

actually he allready has got leather straps :D
Check (http://members.lycos.nl/hymz/tweakers_postapocalyptic/voormaddog1.jpg) ( dont mind the ugly render and ears :D )

i'll try a plastic texture
the arms and hand are my weak point sort of speak :hmm:

i really suck at making hands :D

thnx for your reply

getting late, time to sleep :wavey:

didnt know what to model so i started playing around with the lightning

quite pleased with it :D ( first GI render )

those white/yellow thingies are an experiment gone wrong, i tried simulating dust but it needs more tweaking.

the box is a placeholder for the teddybear :D
