A thread gets closed if a moderator deems it no longer fit for discussion, or -in the case of some stickies- not necessary to reply to. This is entirely up to the moderator's discression, and may be to do with impending flame wars or notice threads.

How....technically.. One of the mods or admin hits the 'button' that says 'lock this thread'.
Why.....now that is just asking to start a 'discussion' that is liable to lead to one of the more 'interesting' discussions that precipitate a thread closure. :D :)

i wonder why my thread is closed, it seems you cannot ask basic questions in here???and cannot ask for peoples opinions or how they might do something.

a thread gets closed if it does not comply to the policies of this board.
ea if it contains flaming, warez discussion, nudity and stuff like that.
i dunno why your got closed bluemilk, as i see nothing wrong with it . . . could've been a mistake so for now, i re-opened it.

thanks, my questions may seem basic to others but arnt to me, i read the manuals but to be hohnest i find them confusing and much prefer the word from other people as a starting point.
