in one go?! Is this possible? I just want all selected layers to be "Lighten" for example. Can I do this easily without change the setting for each layer individually?

Yes - select one layer with the lighten setting you want and then right-click on it, select "copy layer style", then select all of the other layers you want with that setting, right click on one of them while they are selected and then choose "paster layer style"
