Looks great! Crazy to model it all in one whole piece though. That's gotta be a pretty challenging approach.

Oops - my mistake. Looking at the posted screenshots, I thought you'd modelled it with creases instead of actual breaks. Looks good in any case!

Seems like we've got some great stuff here!! Btw - has anyone ever seen any rating stars on the threads here @ cinema forum? I haven't - how come people don't vote here or is the number of votes required to show the stars very high? :hmm:

Hey Sebek - it's coming along pretty nicely:thumbsup: I've been following your progress on that one from the beginning and it's getting better and better. I know how hard it is to model a car and since you have just started to learn cinema makes your car even greater. I tried all the works boxmodeling, splines, polys, one piece, separate panels - you name it and now after I've been playing w/ cinema for a year and a half I have managed to get my first decent looking car (the Audi) but still lot's of stuff to learn....
Keep it going!

First try at 3d modelling, used as an exercise to learn the tools. Not really finished (i.e rear lights, inside textures) but I ran out of steam and have moved on to modelling my own peugeot 205 GTI.

That Mini is super!! Are you saying that's your first 3D model ever? Or just the first car? You've got some serious skills. Was that made in R8 or 7? Good work:thumbsup:

Thanks "Peoples" for the comments. The Mini was made in R8 and yes it is my first ever model. Picked up most of the tips and techniques by reading this board.
Cheers.

Wesware,
That Ferrari looks amazing, those edges and the mesh are so freaking clean! I really need to learn poly-to-poly since both you and third-eye (I believe) have done amazing cars that way. You definately need to put that in some kind of environment, it will kick serious butt then.

Texturing ain't my strong point. It's just got Lumas at the moment, and a gradient in the Environment (and colour, obviously), I have a hard time stopping HDRI environments from "washing out" the paint color. No doub't I'll be here asking about it when I work on the paintwork again :)

What compression settings are you folks using to post images into this thread? With a limit of 20000 bytes I cant understand how such large images are being posted. I'm using Adobe Image ready to compress jpegs- I either end up with a crap image or one so tiny.... Maybe I'm missing something?

Maybe I'm missing something? :scream: If you have some webspace you can use the [IMG] tag to show the pictures directly from your server without any limitations...
Well, FWIW, heres a link to my first and so far, only car, still very much a W.I.P.
I open the file from time to time, stare at it for a few mins, then close it again and work on something else, who knows, i might actually finish it someday... :S
