View Full Version : animation
vfx20 07-08-2008, 09:58 PM Is there any way to animated pivot points or switch between pivot points? I have an organically shaped mesh rigged, but it needs to tumble. Is there a way to avoid animating the position to compensate for the single pivot point which won't always be in the right place?

You can animate the pivot with the xpresso setup on my site (just use the search function on it's home page), or you can use dynamic parents and constraints, or simply use real parents, add a null around which things should rotate.

The file is stripped down, do you have a version so I could see how the xpresso links the virtual axis to my object?

Just place the virtual axis as a child of the object. It will change the objects axis.

So there's nothing I have to do in the xpresso editor, simply placing it as a child of an object doesn't change my pivot? I must be missing something.

You don't do anything with the Xpresso, placing it as a child of your object will modify your objects "pivot", but your object must be an editable mesh. For non mesh objects then as I said use constraints or hierarchy.

Are you sure this works for v10?
Can't seem to get it to work properly either... maybe I'm slow....

Animation is the way of showing our ideas in graphical.
The third view can be possible in animation.
The things beyond imagination can be possible here.
