Get the 8800.


The Quadro FX 550 is crap! As is the 8600, certainly in my experience anyway. I used for modelling in AutoCAD.

The same model on a 8800 performs a lot better. Not tried a really complex model though but I'm buying a 8800 for home and work are investing in a Quadro FX 3700 for work.

but fx x50 series are different than x70 series

Feel free to add, I asumed the higher up in the range you go the better. I've tried both the 540 & 550 and both were not very good.

So it's better to buy the 8800GT 3D Studio works basically in DirectX
