Hi all, long time since I posted some finished work.

This is a VW Beetle that I have modified. The original model is a free download from the blend.polis website for Blender, I take this oportunity to thank the creator Pa_FurijaZ .Click here for his web site. (http://digilander.libero.it/pafurijaz/)

Click the link below each thumbnail to open larger render, warning the larger renders average 1MB in size.

This is the original render before I started working on it:-

My versions:-
Front 45' view.

Rear 45' view.

Fish-eye perspective view.

Front 45' view, second colour scheme.

Noticeable changes I have implemented are; New chromaflare metalic paint, wide arch body kit, soft top conversion with 6 inch height reduction. Rear and front spoilers added and front bonnet air intake. 6 inch ground clearance reduction. And neon hover under-lights.

Modeled and rendered using Blender. Small amount of post in Photoshop. (Grain and titles.)

Thanks for viewing,

Sonix.

 Very nice work.

The blue version looks best IMHO. And love the perspective view.

Any chance of a wireframe version?

I wouldnt' drive it! :D

why dont' you try to make the car from scratch? it looks like you have the skills to. and it would be much cooler to say "I made it" rather than "I modified it, this guy made it".

Nice looking, but I'm not a fan of the "import" style cars. :scream: :)

I shall, I needed to get a bit of confidence up before tackling the whole project. My cars in the past haven't had the quality that I'm striving to get.

Thanks for the words and the encouragement,

Hello!

Like Error404 said... the idea it's an imported then modified model troubles me. It's like, hum... customizing Poser models... oh! and some customizations are reaaly good ;)

No really, the modifs you made are really funky!
there's no way you'll drive around discretely with these :)
Maybe the air-taker thingy on the last one is a bit exagerated... no? well, the wheels too, so guess it's meant to be :)

Keep it on!

Dani

Hey, Sonix - very funky! I'd go for the blue wireframe version. Looks like a semi-transparent kevlar composit thingy.

Huge rearwheels, btw. I would not dare to ask what a complete set of new tires would cost :D

Nice mods

It's great to see what Blender can achieve, being a free progam !!

Love the blue wireframe pic!

This is only the tip of Blender's iceberg.

These are the last renders of this little car, with a rocket engine modification for a mad thread at threedy.com:-

Next project is commencing. This time built from scratch.

Thanks for looking, and a huge thankyou to everybody who has taken time to comment

Wicked idea, esp. last one. Animated transformation from "normal" to this rocket one would rock ;)

The best car I ever modeled was so bad that I had to put a tarp over it.

Keep it up my friend.
