unwrap 05-26-2003, 06:37 PM Hi, I am first time at CGTalk. This project of mine is in progress, suggestions and comments are appreciated. I've been pretty enjoying the gallery at 3DFestival and I really hope to get CGTalk Viewer's Choice Award one day and have a artwork there in the gallery. :surprised This is my very first attempt. This project is in progress, suggestions and comments are appreciated.

Nice little image. Was the glowy effect in done in post or as a rendered effect? Just to make this interesting you might say a bit on how you made this image. What software, techniques.
Cute little guy. Keep going.

Ow, yes, of course.
The effect is done in postprocess with Corel PhotoPAINT 9 (Low-pass blur effect).
The character is mainly based on metaballs and deformations, no NURBS used. Used 3D software is Caligari trueSpace6 with no plug-ins. And hardware is Pentium 4 2.4GHz, 256MB of DDR RAM and GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB DDR at 1024x768 resolution with Samsung 171N 17" TFT Monitor. At the end of the project, I plan to add as many details of environment as I am able to, also got to add some developments to the character (texturin and modelling).
Thanks for viewing.

I really like it.. but i don't think you should texture him.. I like him as he is.
The eyes though.. i think they should have some specularity etc so they look a bit 'wet', i think he'd have more character with some great eyes.
