Is there a way to add sound to an image in either Photoshop or Imageready CS2?

It's for a web site. I know it can be done in Flash, but I don't own Flash and don't plan to.

Thanks...

No, this is not possible. There are plenty of free SWF (Flash file) creators if you search around. Simple drag and drop stuff.

You could also do this with HTML... Or several hundred other ways. It depends on what you want it to do and who your audience is. While SWF (Flash) is great, you may want to look into using Quicktime to create a .mov file that streams or one that starts playing while downloading. You could also use Windows media player.

Honestly though - if all you want is for a sound file to play while an image appears on-screen in a webpage use this:

Actually, I was going to use it on navigation links, so it would be just a fairly short sound.

But, that always sounds like a good idea then can become quite annoying to some.

Navigation interaction? Then yeah - flash, definately. Although - Nav sounds are cute at first and VERY annoying as the user progresses through your site.

I'm not sure but you might be able to do something with javascript - but I am not a coder, so I am unsure. Flash is the best way to accomplish seamless interaction. The new CS3 suite makes it easier than ever to bring Photoshop layers into Flash. That being said - you will have to do some prep work to your file before doing this, like merging layers that have adjustment layers on them, collapsing groups if they are used to create one image etc.

I know PS has a 30 day trial so Flash may very well have the same deal - wouldn't hurt to try.

Thanks.

Yeah, I'm not a coder either.

Probably not worth all the expense for what I want to do. I'm up to PS CS2 and don't own Flash.

I may change directions...

Thanks for the help.
