View Full Version : stills: Exposé Entries
Murtaza 05-26-2003, 03:18 PM Hello, here are a couple pieces that i want to enter, i'm not sure if they are are 'entry' worthy or not. I have to re-render them at an appropriate resolution as well so i would appreciate some comments in that regard :)
Rendering at the specified resolution will take quite a lot of rendering time as well; so please tell me if they are 'ok' as entries and i'll get started asap :)

Ummm, would you mind making the files a little smaller? I'd love to be able to see the whole thing without scrolling. :hmm:

How do I get past the "Donations" page? It won't let me.... because I refuse cookies?? Dunno.
edit: Never mind... weirdest thing... I deleted all cookies associated with that site, and now the images show up no problem. Huh.

Your works are very sexy. Why not give it a try? no entry charge right?

The only comment I've got after seeing your works is that your management of lights is impressive.
The effect is realistic. Great work!

I think they look great. A little boring for my taste (no offense!), but certainly they have something to offer. The level of realism is amazing. The teacup with the plastic wrap in the background and the final skull render are my favorite. Send them in! The tank in your WIP directory is also very cool -- nice texturing! I just wish you would be more ambitious in terms of composition.

Is that transition from light to dark on the Earth accurate?? It seems sorta strange to me that it'd be this wavy yellow line...
Beautifully done stuff, by the way;) !
It really would be nice to see something a little more ... hm... involving.
That is, something that involves the viewer a bit more directly... These are very impressive in their realism, but tell no story... hint at nothing further...
This stuff is technically superb, but I suspect that you have more to communicate than technical excellence.
That said...

I agree with the lack of story comment, its something ill have to work on in the future. These pieces were done pretty quickly though, did them last year. I'm working on a short film now, that will have some story :)
As for the orange transition...

It's atmospheric dispersion, just something i saw and wanted to re-produce. I could get rid of it but i like it :)

dude that stuff ooks aweseom the only thing i would ay is, the skull is to perfect, ad some cracks and things anf i think it would look more real that way, but it still looks sweet, i like the cloede mouth better if i had to choose:applause:

umm, even looking at the nasa picture, you one seems a bit off. If you look at their one, the orange line actually follows the cloud structure whereas your one is simply a wavy line.
Apart from above, your images are really cool. I think some of them are a little bit over-exposed. I know this is realistic but it just seems to go a tiny bit too far.
anyway, what people said, skull and glad-wrapped cup is REALLY cool
