Greetings CGTalk,

I've broken out my wacom and finally decided to give digital art a try. I'm a website and graphic designer by trade and feel this is the missing link in my life, so here goes;

Just looking for advice on the shrubbery inside the trees if possible. It's my first time painting with a wacom and I'm just looking for tips on making the tree look as real as possible.

Using Photoshop, Wacom Bamboo.

Cheers :)

trees are not very easy to get them photorealistic and I wouldn't say a tree is the best start if it goes to digital painting because there are so many details in a tree. But you can still do it, if you want to. I would recommend to get yourself some references if the goal is photorealism. Look at trees and first try to get form and value of the tree without adding all the leafs and details. If you like what you see you can start with detail leaves and so on.
