Help me with modeling 3dmax

You may be using editable mesh, or the edit mesh modifier. Use editable poly or the edit poly modifier instead, because the modeling tools are better and you see 4 sided polygons instead of 3. If your output is for a low poly game engine, then create your object using the edit (editable) poly features, and convert it to a editable mesh when you are done.
