Is there a file to save/store or way to save and store my settings. You know, to keep all my menus, colors, plugins, etc.. the way that I have them now?

After the whole 7.5b fiasco, I had some funky stuff going on and just did a reinstall of 7.5 and went to 7.5c to avoid dinking around. As a result, I had to re-load all my 3rd party plug-ins, redo my menus, reset my color scheme, etc..

In case I need to re-install again or whatever, this would be a great help and prevent some pain.

Thanks

Yes, depends on your system. on W2K settings are somwhere in the C:\Documents and Settings\"your name" directory.
But it's not a safe place if you have multiple version of LW (like when you install 7.5 7.5b 7.5c....)
What you have to do is create a configs folder in LW directory
C:\LightWave_3D_7.5\configs and then edit the property panel of the Modeler and Layout Shortcuts icons and add the following in the target field :

C:\LightWave_3D_7.5\Programs\Lightwav.exe -cC:\LightWave_3D_7.5\Configs

and for modeler

C:\LightWave_3D_7.5\Programs\Modeler.exe -cC:\LightWave_3D_7.5\Configs

That way LW will now where to point the configs.

Do the same for each version of LW you'll wish to install, which means each version is installed in a completly different dir, so things won't mix.

When you change layout or modeler schemes there is a option to save right there in that panel.
Always keep a spare copy of those configs on a floppy...thats what I do at least....
Same thing for plugs...back a copy in safe place somewhere.
The colours you can back up Lightwaves LWHUB.cfg......
Its some where like "doucuments settings\user\something..."...depends on your OS...
