I was wanting to do a small spoof of the frighteners for my modelling class. I've modelled an electric blender and was wanting to animate it flying around etc- and at some stage push it through some wallpaper like on the frighteners.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It will be slow going but you could make a simple blender shape and use it as an influence object.

The other alternative is to put a lattice on your wall and shape it like your blender. With some creative work you could make this work, and it will move a lot faster when it comes time for you to animate it.

Yeah,

Or you could make your wall a softbody and then use a proxy blender as the source of a field.

Why not try using cloth for it? I think some really stretchy cloth with syflex nailed all around the edges would get you there. I could maybe forsee a problem with the dynamics influencing to far away from the object (i.e., for man, skeliton, or what not), but Im sure you cout work around that with either more nails or making you animation really fast (and slowing after) so that it dosent have time to influence too far out. I've never used Maya cloth...maybe that would work too.

Just an idea...good luck

You again Gremlin!! You're starting to creep me out!

And I don't "know everything", I just make lots of suggestions, some good and some useless.

Cloth is another very good suggestion, though only if he has Maya Unlimited.

And hello?? Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the greatest TV series on Earth! And Sarah Michelle Gellar is the coolest of cool actresses.

Or is the plural actressi?

Hehe just kidding! :wavey:
