Good job! the sculpting and rendering are well done but i think you managed to portray Belial as very friendly looking :D while he "it" is supposed to be the one demon that stands closest to Satan, as he's also known as the wicked one i would have used those two parameters when getting inspiration for the portrait. But i won't critic your interpetation :) everyone's entitled to interpet this as they wish, including you.

I take your point Magnus (you obviously know your nephilim from your succubus). He's not exactly supremely evil with that pot belly is he? I didn't really want that. According to Christian doctrine Belial was made second to Lucifer (Morning star) and is the demon who is believed to grant favours to Satanists, so they tend to worship Belial over Satan (so I've been told). But this image is part of a series based on 'political intrigues' going on in Hell. This was to be part one of a two part image. He was arguing with St Michael who has gone to Hell on an ambassadorial mission .All totally blasphemous stuff and made up...apologies to anyone who finds it offensive (though I find the belief that our lives are controlled by a supreme being offensive personally....so....?). I figured that devils and angels were all on the one side at one time, they were the same, so they should be able to deal with each other in a civilised manor. Like politicians in opposing political parties or old friends who've fallen out. And like how the Bible would have us live and deal with one another. I wanted to convey that in the image. Why shouldn't demons and angels meet up and discuss their differences round a table? Isn't Gods message forgiveness? Would God forgive Satan if Satan wanted it? And why shouldn't Belial have a beer belly, bad teeth and look a bit friendly (though I'm not sure I share your view on him looking friendly?)

I'll probably go straight to Hell for writing this :twisted:

First i checked the image and thought "ok, another fanatic" but then I read the text you wrote....damn really I started to like you and your work. I love the background you put up for this all and I really agree with you on the vision.

Added you to my favourites a while ago but haven't commented on any of your work yet. Like all your work you make the effort to add those little extra details that make an image, like the reflection of flames on his back. The background is great too.
