A room made of completely metal. Thought it'd be interesting to try out some lighting also, and I wanted the room to be concealed, so therefore there's no window. I'm still working out some lighting problems, but I REALLY like the shadows so far :).

are you sure thats metal looks more like plastic to me.

its got promise but it needs metal with a capital M.

that and the red is kinda werid. I would drop it and make it monochrome, or one color.

It's going to be hard, if not impossible, to make an all-metal room look like metal, since there's nothing in it but reflective surfaces. It's like a hall of mirrors (or would be with a higher reflection depth (hint)).

How about having glowing wall panels for light sources. Also you seem to be missing a wall behind the camera.

why does it all need to be the same sort of metal?
why not mix it up a little...change fitting type metal...or seat metal...etc...brushed metal...chrome...steel...etc
like the idea...though....if you want the future feeling you don't need to age it...just think about the change in manufacturing process to get what you want...hope this helps. also think about light sources?

whats the red E for?

keep it up....

The E is pretty much like my logo. I'm still thinking of where to put the light source, maybe have a fan light?. And that different steel thing is a good idea, I'll try that.

dude I would kill the Idea of the red E its just not fitting with the whole room. But anyway if this reaches its potential it will be awesome.

however the red is is just strange at least make it metallic.

ohh yeah your update is a little bit corrupted.

If the update doesn't work for you then this one should work better.

Here's a low quality wire of it:

This is such an interesting idea I'm breaking form and actually posting in this forum.

It's an idea worth doing right. The later images posts have brightened up and started to come to life. So here are some suggestions from my completely subjective POV.

Either kill the E or move it to the wall. It's just such an image-killer where it is. Having one chromatic element is a good idea, but an off-balance, how's-that-thing-standing-there? element isn't working. And the projector--is it really that essential to your identity?...is an extruded E really your logo? And what's that out the window? A robot, I guess, but in the image it's just clutter.

Quite a few polys, no? ...but I'm not one to judge on that count.

If it was just the room, it's a simple really cool idea. If you just did that one thing right, you'd have something. None of the other elements are worth diminishing that idea over. My 'what to show' vote would be letter out, projector out, robot out.

Otherwise, the room is a bit claustrophobic. Like Van Gogh's yellow room, except not intentionally so. A bit broader and flatter would gain you a lot of needed oxygen.

I only say this because it's gonna be a very interesting thing when you apply some thought to it, stand back, and go over it objectively.

The "window" is an embedded picture frame, and the robotic face is another image of mine. The 'E' is leaning against that table thing. And concerning the rest of your ideas, I'll be sure to check the stuff out, see how much better it looks. Yeah, the projector is quite irrevelant to the image as well, I'll remove that, and maybe the E too.
Thanks for taking the time to type out that much, appreciate it.

Another update. Got rid of the projector, moon, red light from the projector, and the E. Broadened the room a bit, and tweaked the reflection amount on all the objects a bit, and just SLIGHTLY tweaked the brightness on their colors as well. Softened the shadows, and light a bit as well.

much better...but is it really necessary to have that many polys for the wall surfaces and sofa! thats just excessive...personally i would try an optimise it a lot...this will just kill your speed and processing when dealing with the image...believe me.

celestine_b: breaking with form...that was a helpful crit you should break with form more often.

would still like to see different material qualities to the room..but this is a personal thing really...would help to break up the reflective surfaces a bit better...can still be chrome look...but could be brushed steel..machined steel...at the moments its good that its smooth and moulded feeling but its just to smooth...again imho.

keep up work though...cos it could really be a cracking image.

flingester, I don't think that his wire is really an accurate poly count. It looks to me like everything is in a hypernubrs object.

ohh one thing you might want to check out buddy, the ceiling fan is way way to rounded. Take it out of the hyperburbs object make it more square and then put it back in.

promising

JIII: yeah i know what you mean...but surely even hypernurbed its a tad high if you ask me...needs optimising i would have thought...anyway up to you...just enjoy it.
