I've been playing with blender for a long time and the most I missed was a good renderer. Gelato was quite a promise, but turned out to be a little complicated. This looks great.
I couldn't find any description of the features though.
Looks like they need more materials, the car paints don't look very convincing. They also need to put down render times and PC specs. Last of all, need support for Silo, probably the only one next to Wings that doesn't have any renderer at all. :D

HUH,
Have you not also tried Indigo -
http://www.indigorenderer.com/joomla/
Or Sunflow -
http://sunflow.sourceforge.net/
Or Kerkythea -
http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/
All work with Blender, and of course not to forget YAFRAY - http://www.yafray.org/
Cheers

Yes inguatu,
I did not mention Renderman here because, as far as I know their are not too many efficient ways of exporting from Blender to Renderman at the moment. Many attempts at plugins / exporters but not great?? Maybe someone can contradict this, delighted if ye can.
Also Renderman shading is not for the faint hearted?

Hi,
In all the galleries there are great images, but there is no render times, or other important info's.
Could anyone compare or review any of those renderers.
Are any ready for video, or stills production?
Thanks

Being an unbiased renderer, the render times are measured in hours (although you will usually get a reasonable preview within a few minutes). Also keep in mind that LuxRender is still prerelease, so things will get faster and quality will improve. Even so, it is not really an ideal renderer for animation work.
There are render times posted with the images in the gallery forum here (http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=15).

lux now offers biased rendering and will be able to be used for animations very soon. Apparently the biased results are very comparable to the unbiased results but taking only a fraction of the time.
