I have done several searches and come up empty.
Here is the scene.
Int. Bright white room (think 2001 Space Odyssey station) and a car close to one of the walls. The car is red. The light is the entire ceiling. (If I were to light this in non-CG land, I would rig 20 or so Keno's and then diffuse it with a 40x40 silk. HMMM Pricey. The producer would not like this plan. Screw him. I'm the DP, and for this fantasy spot I'm making $5,000 per day)
Anyway...
I'm having a difficult time getting this to work. My goal is to have a very bright atmosphere and have the walls, which are a white cloth-like texture reflect on the car and have the car's reflection on the floor which is white marble.
Should I use HDRI? Which will require some research for I'm not very clear on the subject, but I'm willing to put in the time. Or use light from the ceiling, like an area light. Though this is what I’ve been doing and it looks like… well, in my fantasy spot, the producer won and I had to use the clip lights you buy at Home Depot for 5 bucks.
