Hey,
Im thinking about starting a project for practice and was wondering if anyone around these parts knew of any good resources for reference images for ww2 Infantrymen.
I have good images for a thompson, but need some good full body shots. (helmet, boots, belts, etc..)
Thanks guys, Im gonna start the thompson tomorrow and keep posting updates.

Hey Lex,

If you're having problems finding good reference images, you could always check out a WWII movie and take some screen captures from it. I'd definitely recommend 'Saving Private Ryan', it's 3 hours of great reference and I'm sure it's super accurate.

Hope this helps!!

Hey Lex,

Saving Private Ryan is a great source of reference material, its very accurate in all respects.
I would also recomend playing or watching the Call of Duty games by Infinity Ward, the first three ( and i have heard the 5th one when it is released) are all WW2 games and show clothing, weapons and architecture in incredibly accurate detail.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I actually have been watching 'Band of Brothers' with my sketch pad in front of me, just getting a feel for proportions of the uniforms, helmets and weapons in relation to the body.
Man, ww2 soldiers are tough to model considering how dynamic they are as far as details and textures.!!!
