For some reason whenever i open up an image it seems to default that image to 240 resolution. I can't figure out why! Even if i output an image with 72 res, and reopen it, it'll go back to 240! Any ideas on what the heck could be going on guys?

ah well solved my own problem, so if anyone ever has this issue...apparently if you have your jpegs coming through camera raw before being dumped into PS it will change the resolution oh so kindly without letting you know.

hi, just noticed your post ..
this is not a "bug", this is a feature -
you can set/change the "output" resolution within you Camera Raw if you like .. (if you do not change that settings, it uses the "default" settings, that apparently is 240 dpi in your particular case);

well - it is not quite common to open jpegs using Camera Raw (only the latest CS3 version allows this) but - if you do so anyway, you should be very carefull while adjusting/making output of your jpeg image for Photoshop, since there is "dangerously" MUCH LESS information to work with (unless you ruin the image) compared to whatever RAW format, which the Camera Raw great interface is determined for ..
take care, a.

ya i know that its a new feature with cs3, i just changed it to open via camera raw simply because at the time i had to color correct a lot of jpegs and the camera raw interface was quicker to use then via standard ps menus... but anyways thanks for the tip, at least now i know for the future.
