I spoke to Bay Raitt recently and he said a new demo of Mirai will be available to download soon.

I'm not joking.:)

*Waits anxiously* The only reason I haven't used Mirai to this date was because I thought it won't have a future, if this is true man o man.

If it ain't broken, why try to fix it? The Mirai guys were part of the company that created the language and they have been programming in it for over a decade and a half. Use what you know.

Isn't everyone sort of jumping the gun here? I mean, all they've done is change their website. "We'll be right back..." is sort of ambiguous.

Kind of what I am thinking. IZware doesn't have a booth reserved yet at siggraph this year. Also the rest of the site seems to be the same old site, just the first page has changed.

heheh, have you ever actually programmed in LISP? The achronym "Lots of Insignificant Stupid Parenthesis" is VERY true. The reverse polish notation is a bit of a pain as well if you are not used to it...

I guess it being in LISP wouldnt matter so much to me if they developed some sort of bindings to C for developers.

" A week ago Izware's email came back undeliverable. Not sure why. It might be back up now.

I included the Host ID in the Subject and received a reply the next day. I was told that they weren't dead, just "hibernating" and that they still served licensed users.

And that they're hoping for a prosperous future this summer.

Bay said that main developer/coder for the Mirai project had been having some personal problems, but was back on track. He said expect the demo in the next few months. I reiterate the word MONTHS, so don't go start pressing F5 repeatedly just yet.:D

I hope they'll have it ready by siggraph :buttrock:
