I think putting a glow or gradient of color or shadow between them would help. And the guy in the background is just a head sticking out of a mound of metal. From a geometrical point of view the composition is flawless. There is a pyramidal structure on top of an 'X' cross formed by the motion of the figures and the sword of the second guy. So from a purely conceptual point of view it is very stable. Color combinations also reinforce these compositional devices and formally speaking the layout is really good. But i agree that something about the way those figures occupy that space doesn't work well. I think it may have something to do with the fact that you in essence see the same view three times. All three figures are chest up, heavy emphasis on the faces which unfortunately are kind of emotionless. They're three sculputral busts stacked on top of each other. So it's a little bit dull in that regard.

But maybe there's also a conflict between the very stable composition and the fact that these figures are jumping/flying forward. Maybe the grounded pyramidal layout in this case doesn't adapt well with figures that are in mid action. And yes also it would help if their faces had a little more expressivness.

This is a great work. But I just don't see how this deserves to get plugged over some other works that don't see their spots on the front page.

The overall look is quite amazing. But as someone else stated, they lack emotions.
I must admit that weirdly I did not notice the breasts at all at first, but after looking the overall image for some time i started to think..."well this must be for another crappy mmo".

Not the place to go talk about the product itself, but since the poster is to "sell" the game it's not doing good in my eyes. But I guess bigger forces wanted those boobs there?

Also the logo could have used some more love. It's great, but does not fit very well with the rest of the poster.

I would rate this 3/5. Technically very well done, but that's all.

If 15 out of 50 where about a pair of beautiful hands, would that upset you as well? Relax, half of the human population have them, they are quite harmless to talk about.

Stunning image, I really like this one. The render is amazing, beautiful composition, coloring and style. My only crit would be the finger pointing at the breasts (although the hand is clearly behind it's still perceived as pointing there), as this makes the image quite funny if noticed and I'm guessing this is not the intention.
One more thing, the blur that is applied here and there messes with the depth of the image for me. This being as it's not applied as a focal depth blur, in that i objects being in the same focal depth are sometimes blurred and sometimes not. It can of course be a style, but for me personally it messes up the perspective.

Sorry for the slow reply, I've been swamped. I am looking forward to this game. I actually applied for the Beta a few weeks back.
I see that there are a ton of MMORPG's on the horizon, especially micro purchase ones, and
some seem quite vanilla, or somewhat WOW clones at best. The Atlantica concept intrigued me, mostly because of the art, and the fact that it looked different. I'm really looking forward to this game, and to seeing more art from this intriguing project.

yo, congrats, for the hole team hwo did this image, through, i like complaining like a biatch..hehe, so i would have lowered the hole image, taking out the blured fuzzy bottom bit which doesen´t make much sence, and making the title a bit bigger, and maby add some glow..seems a bit bland compared to the image.., the sasuke guy looks too much like the girl...is he a guy? i suppose the fact he has a sword should make think he´s a he....(add a scar, show some muscle... or something), and i´m not to keen on the really white skin with redish bags around the eyes, (reminds me of dead people), apart from that it´s totally cool, like the hair (cloud from FF NOT sasuke), and of course the tits are pretty good.. i acctually like the barbarian or dwarf or giant etc in the background,

let me be more constructive. the illustration is great but unless this is for TITS magazine, the cleavage in the foreground is too distracting. It takes away from the rest of the image. I'm not conservative, I'm an art director that would say "can we draw some attention away from these?" if I had commissioned it.

Here is the poster for the MMO Roleplaying game called 'Atlantica'

It took aproximately two months to complete it.

this piece is the teamwork of several workers in my project.
I did layout, posture of characters, background painting,
final composing and retouching for it.

this looks pretty good for modeling and rendering, but there is a weird DoF blur on the guy's hand that shouldn't exist that must have been overlooked in compositing. If his hand is blurred, the woman should be blurred out quite a bit.

Otherwise, nice FF stylization.

That's a great piece. As far as the breasts go, I'm ashamed to admit that I began playing the game because that girl caught my eye. I got a mouse pad with her on it when I went to GDC '09 and picked up a disc with the game on it. Not all of the women in the game are dressed like that, but there is a significant amount of cleavage. Not that I'm complaining. :)

So what I'm saying is, great work! Love the design and it totally made me pick up the game and try it. And if anyone is wondering, it is fun to play and it's free.
