Hi everyone

I was just wondering if there is a way to know how many hours of "work" a c4d file has? well not really work but instead how many hours the file was left open (maybe) this info is part of the metadata within the file format?

Thanks in advance :)

No, this info is not stored inside of the CINEMA 4D file.
I'm not to sure it would be usefull anyway, since it would not be a protocol of how much time was spend on actualy working on it.

I remember a plugin that someone developed that helped to keep track of actual modeling time. It was a couple of years ago I think, but maybe still around and working in R10+. Anyway, it probably isn't that much more help than your honest and diligent time-keeping. :)

:)
Sure I agree but it gives one an estimate of the amount of time invested on a particular file!

Hey soccerrprp you know where I can get this plug for a test?

Thanks for the quick responses guys!

I was afraid you would ask...sorry, the only thing i remember is that it was in German or French, but seemed to work okay. Sorry about that... it was something this guy used for his own purposes and was kind enough to share...i'll try to do a search.

I guess you think of Bernd Neutag's "Worktimer" (http://www.total3d.de/index.php?b=downs&wo=viewkat&kat=C4D-Dateien&id=39#39).
But it's in german for real.

Thanks for the link Heliodor. It works great.

The text is all German... But if you wish to try it out, simply download that file and extract it into the plugin directory. There you can find the 'worktimer' directory and the sample file later. The work timer is a HUD element and shows the preset for automatic PAUSE (3 minutes of inactivity), Scene total (Gesamtzeit der Szene), from that active time (davon aktive arbeit), und pause (guess what... yes: and pause). The two lines 'Aktiv seit Laden' -> active since loading and 'Pause seit Laden' -> Pause since loading.

That should get you going. The settings in the plugin can be interpreted with the fragments given above.
Cheers

Heliodor,

That's the one!

Yah, figuring out what each parameter does is not difficult.

:D

It Works! :)

But any of you know how to remove it from the HUD? I mean it is visible all the time and "visible in editor/render" doesnt seems to work so any ideas? I just want to keep it in the attributes when I click on the tag!

Very nice plug thanks a lot Heliodor

right-click over it and choose remove. whenever you click on it in the OM, it shows up in the attribute manager

Here is the english and german version.
Please delete the "worktimer.c4d" and then rename the "worktimer - ENGLISH.c4d" into "worktimer.c4D"
The file is in the worktimer folder.

There is now a english readme, too ;-)

You get it here : http://www.total3d.de/index.php?b=downs&wo=viewkat&kat=C4D-Dateien&id=39#39

Thanks, Bernd. This looks like a good tool to have since we constantly work with a deadline hanging over our heads.

This is a very nice plug-in. Most of the time I wanted to test a new thing for future jobs. This would help give an accurate amount of time to quote for.

nice to see other user can use it :-)

I write it, becaus I do often many private things between my 3D-jobs.
This plugin set pause automatically.
So I know what I have work at a scene an can make fair price.

But be carefully, the result of the counter can shock you.
How many time you spend with no need things ;-)
