modelled a head of a posable wooden figure and threw some wood material on it placed a few lights and used some radiosity then rendered in brazil. what ya think?

I think that somehow you have managed to choose to test radiosity in the only possible situation where there is actually no radiosity :rolleyes:, i.e. an object and a totally black background. I have understood radiosity as light "emitted" by objects to objects. Black background certainly is the worst "object" to choose.

yes, for there to be radiosity, there must be multiple objects. Read all about radiosity in your help files. I did the average primitive objects and walls scene to test radiosity. Try that and you might see some cool bouncing light and color bleeding. Also, the light tracer uses raytracing to fake radiosity which can produce some nice results as well. You may want to give that a test.
