Wow... this has to be the coolest modeling reel I've seen in a while man. Congratz on a great reel. I really like the way you used the camera and you did an amazing job on the lighting and texturing as well.
But don't you have another host? This is just such a hassle to download this thing from rapidshare. If you want you I can mirror the video from my host.

Gotta keep one of these for the archive. Great work Omar! I'll be sad to see you go (+/- 10 days of course).
I've always loved seeing this and with the sound it truly makes it so much more real.

It's nice to see it done, I'm glad the sound guys were able to hit the nail on the head for you as to what you wanted. There's nothing much to say that hasn't been said, I hope you end up in the place you've been wanting. Great work once again :]

Wow this was amazing! The first two shots have been looking
so real. WOW! I also loved that you only used minimal sounds
on some sequences... it gives your reel something special.
Overall really great modeling but also amazing lighting and great
hand camera style. 5* from me. Really loved to watch it!

Dude - amazing work... It's been really great gettin to know u and u're an inspiration to me and my crappy lighting... haha! Awesome reel... you should be proud! And I look forward to working alongside u again one day! haha...
*****5 stars bud!
Top row for sure!
Excellent work man - hope you go far!! The opening shot - I coudl really feel the depth to the scene. Great lighting work.
I'd be grateful if you could explain how you go about getting such a great hand cam feel to the camera animation. :)
One thing I would have done differently is the background to the head model - the still background looks warped at times - perhaps tinting and giving some blur to the window glass would have helped hide this. Small thing really given how great the reel is.

hey, thank you all for the replies.
vfx - for the handheld camera i did the basic animation, pointing to where i want, then i tweak a little bit the curves to smooth some transitions, and final i put a noise/fractal operator on the rotation of the camera with a small amount just to get some randomness.
chindian - yap i hope we can work together on the future man.

perfect work , man , congrates, very nice render and texture, :buttrock: may i ask a question how much time did your render use:hmm:
OmarFernandes
06-30-2008, 05:19 PM
hey, on the first scene on a quad core it took something like 7 minutes per frame, on the skull it took 5 minutes, the car took 5 to 10 and the bar 10 to 15 all in 1440 x 778
Ajouz

That was pretty Awesome !! I would put some dynamics there, like rubber burn and some smoke.
Great job !!

Hey omar, great job! Its nice to see a bit different modeling work come out of VFS. The first two, specifically the second one is my favorite.
Having been in 3d59, i know time can be really short...but if you happen to get more time, or work from home...Id do a new cut, where, you spend more time on the second model...perhaps get the camera closer to the model, show off your mudbox/zbrush/texturing skills...its a killer model because of its showcase for modeling/texturing/vfx work/lighting. Id showcase that model a lot longer and cut down the car scene.
again, im sure you wont get any more time...but if you did!
Ciao--

I love the monster head best. But I think if the background which out the windows be more blur will be better.
OmarFernandes
07-26-2008, 03:09 PM
Jaaaaaay - yap i should blurred it, but i was trying to get the blu ray feeling out of it where everything looks sharp....
joecyriac - thanks man we will meet again :D
