Hey, i think your friend is off to a good start.I really like most of the models but what i would say is to lighten up the textures a bit.It's making them look very dark at a point where you cannot understand their design.Also,on some models,he has very hard edges,for example the 2nd and 6th model look very low poly.They need to look rounder.
I really like the building though :)
