The body has progressed a good lot. Good work -- keep it up and you'll get it easy. On a side note, I always have the hardest times with the rear. I'm thinking it's some Freudian thing.

IUpDown: Oh, and the software used in that AVI is, (without having seen it, but knowing it's Rait's stuff) Mirai. www.izware.com is the company website, though there hasn't been updates to that particular piece of software for quite some time. Everyone is holding their breath for 1.5 (myself included).

Cheers,

Tony Wooster

I am very impressed to see your improvement on this project.. Now run out and get a book called "Dynamic Anatomy" by Burne Hogarth. It is the best book for learning the human anatomy and after you finish reading it you'll have the knowledge of an anatomy student. I use it extensivly and wish I could send you one. Good JOB and Good Luck on this model. I'll be checking in to see your improvements and to give you valuble crits on muscle placement....... WOOT to YOU:thumbsup:  cause Roger and Ebert said SO

Thanks, I will follow your advise ... I am not going to any school.. so I try to practice and read as much as I can ... currently I am using musclemag's ... and probably as you said an anathomy book would be a lot more useful ... and I really appreciate any comments .. thats one of the best way I can improve :) Thanks again .. i am looking forward to talking to you again ...

You need to lengthen the torso some for now, that will make your character look more realistic.. Post new pic to I can see your improvenments.... Looking forward to see it progress..

Hi GhostDragon! Your defineately progressing quickly.
One suggestion is to add some softening to some of the hard edges of the muscles, like the outer borders of the abdominal muscles. I'm not sure of the name equivelant in other apps but in Maya there is an 'average vertices' tool that helps alot. The procedure would be to select the vertices that appear too harsh, then apply this tool to sort of blend them into the surrounding area better. I use a method like this alot on extruded areas of a polygon mesh. Hope that was helpful, and continue to improve.

Hi Guys ..

koinu: To keep the ballance of the whole body size ... I think I will shorten the legs instead of lengthening the torso .. you think its ok?

Threedeemer : Himm I tired adding some softening to the edges but it was an unseccessfull try :) I will keep trying though .. As for the software I am using 3D studio max 5.0 ... everything I am doing is manual .. cuz I am really new to 3D wrold its been like 9 weeks since I learned how to place a sphere into the scene :p ... and its been like 12 days since I started to learn box modeling ..
If anyone knows how to soften the edges easier in max I like to know :) for the edges I usually use 3 paralel edges and the middle one I give depth to draw a line ...

here I am posting a new pic. And I am really having problem with the abs and the stomach area ... it doesnt look like as I want ...

:hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

lol. I'm kinda starting with this 3d business too and I was looking at your thread with interest cause i did something similar a week or so ago.

That last pic is horrendous disproportionate - you really should use some sort of reference image, you should have both a front and SIDE image plane to give you an idea on how things should look. In the instance of your model, the side looked sweet but when I saw the front, I nearly fell over laughing/shocked cause the side images looked okay.

That said, I'm also learning so don't take this the wrong way, get a front Image plane for reference and the model should sort itself out 80%.

And additionally, I might be wrong but you should definitely sort out the figure's proportion first before adding details like the abs and chest muscle.

TheGhostDragon: I'm going to pop your bubble... .::scream:

You have gone waaayy too far...
Things I want you to write down and remember for future anatomy drawings. The human male body is on average 7 heads high from the ankle to the bottom of the neck, use the head as the measuring device. So make a sphere the size of the head you want.. Build your poly box with 7 subdivisions going from top to bottom using the sphere to measure each area.. As for the arms, they are 3 heads long from the shoulder cap to the wrist. I have drawn you a rough outline of how the body looks. Also, draw a body and put it on an image plane for your reference rather than looking from a pic. It is better to have reference behind the model that trying to create from what you see for now, as your talent grows you will be able to crank out models easier... Keep it up and DON'T QUIT !!!!!! Aslo check your Private message

My model was going nice and smooth at the beginning but I screwed it up all some how little by little :p

I am too frustrated right now .. but I wont quit ...
I am more stubborn then a goat :)

Tomorrow morning I will start it all over from scratch instead of fixing this :)

Hi guys, I have been busy with stuff lately so unfortunately I didnt have time to study 3D at all ...

k I will follow koinus advise to model the body with proper size .. I decided to model the head first .. and this is my learning model .. some of my friends advised me that fixing the model would be a good exercise for me ... I will fix the body after I complete the head model ... here are some renders ...
