Title: Watch "The Automatic"
Name: Francois Daniel
Country: France
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

Hi all,

I made this watch a few weeks ago for a speed challenge on a french-speaking forum and decided to work on it again, in order to improve the rendering.

No pretentions, just for fun and training. :)

I took a large inspiration from a commercial photo from Nixon.
I tried to play with lighting (1 SkyPortal, 1 photometric and 1 direct only to get more light and shadow in the center) and environment (hdri) to get nice gradients. The black areas on the chrome on the foreground is made by black polys, set around the watch.

Hope you'll like it. ;)

Very good Product rendering! Great design and
phantastic materials and lighting. 4* from me.
What ahmedmax said is true... it would be even
better if you wold see the glass. Although really
good work!

This looks really great! Fantastic render.

Highlights on the glass would definitely help.
