View Full Version : Motion Vectors, RSMB and ASA Buffersaver - help
spaceball 06-26-2008, 10:09 AM Hi - I need to get motion vectors into my render for a compositor who will be using ReelSmart Motion Blur
I used to use the house of secrets exporter plugin - but that needs "ASA buffersaver" plugin - and the site that had that plugin is gone...
I've tried archive.org to get hold of the (free) plugin - but no luck..
Does anyone have an old copy left?
Or is there a newer and better way to get vectors into RSMB?
I'd love to hear of any sucess stories,
Thanks!
Chris.

Not really what you need to hear, but I've found that RSMB does an excellent job without vectors, just by using its own pixel-tracking. You could always export in layers to ensure it gets a clean track... possibly.

FAQ's here:
http://www.revisionfx.com/support/faqs/motion_vector_FAQs/motion_vectors/#Lightwave
which links to a plugin here:
http://www.houseofsecrets.nl/downloads/plugins.htm
That one works with 32 and 64bit LW I believe. I also have a plugin in the 32bit LW, "rsmbexport.p" which might have been supplied with Reelsmart?...So far I've found the auto tracking to be sufficient within reelsmart and couldn't get a decent output from either vector plugin which is why I haven't really used them. I seem to remember spending a day trying to get the correct settings for the vectors with both plugins in 32bit and 64bit before seeing what the auto-tracking was like...it worked ok for what I needed so I never got a definitive solution.
[EDIT] haha...DarthMole beat me to it

thanks- I've been to house of secrets - once you download their plugin you find out that it'ds dependent on an old plugin called ASA_buffersaver to get the buffer info out of lightwave.
This plugin and the site where ASA_buffersaver came from no longer exists :(
this is where it used to be...

Maybe someone has still owns a copy - it's a free plugin...
