View Full Version : Character Animation - Termite Commercial
Fasty 05-24-2003, 01:31 PM Just thought I'd show my very first attempt at character animation in a paid tv commercial. You might remember this guy from a work in progress posted a while ago now.

The animation is awesome! Really nice expressions and movements.
Though I think the lighting is a little simple. How about some GI?

Very nice. Although I think the color of the termite should be more natural; kinda looks plastic-like right now.
Even though it may be simple, your point gets across very well, and I think that's the whole point. Nice termite, looks cute and vicious at the same time to me, don't know why. What software do you use? Keep up the good work.

Thanks everyone!
FeRdI: I could have used some GI but that would have really bumped up the render times and I just couldn't have afforded that. I'm open to other ideas as to how I could have improved the lighting though :)
kannu and ofir3dvb: Thanks!
linus3d: I would have loved to make him more natural looking, but the fact of the matter is I haven't had much experience surfacing characters like this and I guess that shows.
DND: I'm so glad you said it looked "cute yet vicous" as that is exactly what I was trying to do! It is completely Lightwave and put together in After Effects.
