hi guys lm doing some test with displacement map but l wanna know which value will not extrude or pull oput my surfaces exemple l go a body and want to add some details but when l use my dispolacementmap all my surce is ctrl by the disaplacement l habe try to are who l dont want displace like a gray to 50 percent but not working any idea

Hi SEDAH!

I am not sure to understand very well your problem but you could try to use the "set range" node which can be useful to prevent push effects with displacement.
Are you using maya displacement?

Hey Pascal long time no see
no lm not using Maya displacement too much cheap
lm using MR displace but thx my problem is solve
tha was because lwas thinkinh black push and white pull with displacement and gray 50 % will not pull or push because its the in between but l have does some test and found the displacement map only pull out on white and black area will not push or pull the mesh .
BUt l will try set range node l never try that thx for the tip

You're welcome SEDAH :)
But if you're using mental ray for maya then set range will not work, you will have to use mental ray texture function called "remap " I think.
Anyway, I am glad you solved your problem ;)

Hi guys another problem here it is if l try a displacement map with MR on a sphere thats works but when l try on a body where l edit my uv when l render my model desappeared on render and with mya render it works but l odnt know what is the problem all step are done correctly because lcan render dipslacement on a sphere with MR but on my model l got this weird Problem

Check your uv set..I know that MR only consider one uv set, if you have created a new uv set then this could be that :)
